It’s about that time of year again Kollaboration LA gets in full motion. Since 2000, I’ve watched PK, Roy, Christine, and their hardworking staff begin a movement all across America.

For those of you who do now know, Kollaboration was a project initiated by Comedian Paul Kim (PK) to promote Korean Americans and Asian Americans in the arts. He believed in the power of youth, and would not let this generation pass by without outlets to stir creativity and community in the Asian Youth in the Los Angeles area. That movement spread to New York, Toronto, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Houston.

Every year, since 2007, I’ve had the privilege to be the Music Director for the Kollaboration House Band. It’s always a great opportunity to bring my tour-mates to this show. This year, I have Lamont Sydnor (Drums/ Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes , P. Diddy, Hillary Duff, John Mayer, and Daniel Powter), Ian Martin (Bass/ Maxwell, Barry Manilow, SWV), and Zach Hahn (Guitar) in my band. Ok, I’ll stop the name dropping now.

Also, this year will be extra special for me. Pigeon John will be performing with us!
