Our good friends and clients from Jungle Entertainment Korea are throwing a concert this Friday at the fashionable Wiltern Theatre in Koreatown. It’s been a while since I last saw the Jungle team during the MIB recording sessions here at the loft.

As a music producer that has done work in the K-Pop realm, I can really say that Jungle Family are quite unique and different. They have always strived to pioneer hip hop in Korea, and if you haven’t seen Tiger Jk’s documentary, then you don’t know how the music industry really works in the motherland.

Our good friend Eugene from KoreAm/ Audrey magazine invited us to the KoreAm Unforgettable Gala & After Party this Saturday at the Park Plaza in Downtown LA. It’s definitely an event for Koreans and Asians in entertainment. What I look forward to? Maybe the Lawry’s dinner, the Hite/ Jinro open bar, Kogi BBQ Truck, or simply just Amerie. There definitely needs to be more Amerie’s in our world today. I hope she dances than rather playing her electric guitar. #justsayin

The gala is sold out, but the after party is where you want to be. Tickets are still available at http://koreamparty2011.eventbrite.com/

Here is video from its event last year.

Speaking of Amerie, why not a look back at her hit #1thing.

Let’s begin the season of giving! My Ninja! x The Blended Group x Culture Shock LA bring you…

The Holidays are around the corner, and it’s time to begin the season of giving.

My Ninja! x The Blended Group have teamed up to bring you CULTURE SHOCK LA Dance Industry Night “Dance For a Cause” at the CONGA ROOM at LA LIVE.

Come celebrate and dance the night away under the electric stars as we raise money for a good cause.

Culture Shock LA is a non-profit group of dancers who use urban dance forms to engage traditionally underserved populations in the arts, and to present these forms with the same dedication and artistry given to classical dance styles. They promote the positive attributes of the Hip-Hop culture by teaching self-worth, dignity and respect through training in the visual and performing arts.

So why not dance and drink the night away to support this great effort.

A few weeks ago, I met  a new K-Pop here in Los Angeles as they were in the studio with our good neighbor, Jason Roberts, who single handedly mixed many records for Seotaji, Jinusean, Cypress Hill, and practically anything YG in the 90′s and more recently, 2NE1.

They are definitely a talented bunch of girls, and definitely a group to look out for in Korea. They sang a few covers here in the office, and we definitely heard their voices. Big ups to 6Theory and Ed Park for bringing them through our studio. The girls were kind enough to give me a photo.

Last week I DJ’d the Holiday Launch for Love Culture with teen star Ariana Grande (Victorious) in Santa Monica. Check me out playing FM’s #sowhat in the background. Next time I have to remember to take a camera. Thanks again to Stephanie Stong, Leah (you know why), Tim and the rest of the Love Culture Team!
